The Public Affairs organization at Starbucks Coffee Company is looking for an experienced and creative photojournalist-storyteller to join our Global Communications Newsroom team. The senior multimedia producer plays a pivotal role in telling authentic stories about social impact, community involvement, innovation and business practices through compelling video, still photography and social media.

Based in Seattle at the company’s headquarters (Starbucks Support Center), you’ll be joining the award-winning Global Communications team, which is responsible for developing and executing short- and long-term communications strategies for building, protecting and aligning Starbucks brand reputation in more than 75 countries across six continents.

Starbucks is looking for a photojournalist with extensive video shooting and editing experience, and a track record of innovation across platforms. Reporting to the vice president and editor-in-chief of the Starbucks Newsroom.


Shoot and edit photos ranging from corporate headshots and product shots, to unique news and feature stories around the globe.
Shoot, produce and edit video stories from conception to publication.
Develop and maintain digital video and photo production and publishing calendar to support the Starbucks Digital Newsroom as well as Public Affairs teams across the globe, including leveraging your network of freelancers.
Ensure that production quality and aesthetics are consistent with brand standards.
Lead and evangelize evolving digital video and photo trends, opportunities and technical requirements.
Post-production editing, including the optimization of video and photo for the intended platform(s) including Starbucks Newsroom, Partner Hub (Company News) and social channels.
Best-practices asset management and organization of videos and photos.


Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism, video/film, new media, or a related field
Proven expertise in digital video production and editing. Experience with newspaper, television and/or news-based website preferred.
Expert knowledge in studio lighting and audio, as well as location shoots.
Expert knowledge of editing software (e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects) and ability to seamlessly edit videos and photos, including sound and color corrections.
A track record of producing video storytelling in a variety of settings – breaking news, international events, brand stories – including conception, story boarding, scripting, filming, post production, and composition.
Expert knowledge of current digital media production, equipment and processes, and digital asset management best practices.
Attention to detail, with an ability to prioritize multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
Knowledge of storytelling techniques for all platforms, including social media.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
