Join Momenta as we enthusiastically return to the city of Medellín and parts North for round two of our Project Workshop Series in the country of Colombia. The last workshop was such a jaw-dropping and enjoyable success that we are returning to the City of Eternal Spring for its famous annual Feria de Las Flores (Festival of Flowers) in 2017. During this enlightening workshop, you will have the opportunity to combine travel documentary photography with more traditional nonprofit and NGO documentary work in two regions of Colombia.
During Week One in Medellín, we will work closely behind-the-scenes with local nonprofits and the City Chamber of Commerce covering the exciting celebrations surrounding Festival. This first week’s concentration will focus the incredible visual potential of the festivities while we warming up our creative and documentary juices.
On Week Two, a short flight will take us just North of Medellín to the beautiful Atlantic Coast where each photographer will be paired with a local nonprofit in this important agricultural and economic region. As with all of our Momenta Project Series workshops, the goal will be to create a storytelling photo or video essay about the efforts of these amazing nonprofit outreach organizations, while you explore the business-related aspects of this type of photography with your instructor team.
The workshop features a mix of nighttime lectures, daily editing by instructors, and hands-on instruction. We know its going to be terrific because one Momenta frequent-flier referred to her experience in on Project Colombia as, “the greatest photographic experience with Momenta yet!” We are proud to invite you to be our guest on this incredible experience.
