A DC-photography professional is leaving her housing behind to live alone so feel free to hop on it, photogs: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/roo/5853199487.html
Are you looking for a chill, cozy space to call home? This could be the place!
The house: I’m looking for one roommate to share this renovated row house in Eckington. It’s a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, with a great front porch + a small backyard (complete with an outdoor brick stove/grill and a comfy porch, too). There is plenty of zoned street parking if you have a car. The house is bright and spacious, and the kitchen has new appliances, a gas stove, and lots of storage. The basement includes a washer/dryer, plenty of storage, and a second bathroom. There is a private room in the basement that is all yours, and is a great rec room/office, or can be used for additional storage. (Note: photos contain old furniture, so the house looks a little different)
The room: The bedroom for rent is approximately 102 sq. ft.; currently fits a queen bed and some additional furniture, and has a ceiling fan, closet, and new carpet. The shared upstairs bathroom has a shower + giant bathtub.
The Rent: For the room is $1497.50. Utilities are not included (they’d be split with the housemate and average about $100/month), but rent does include the ADT security alarm system.
The housemate: I’m a 31-year-old journalist who works a *lot*, but also likes to garden when possible + cook at the house. The ideal housemate would be somewhat chill (not really a party-house, but great for occasional dinner parties or entertaining out-of-town guests) and respectful of shared space. Pets are ok with a pet deposit, too!
The ‘Hood: The Eckington neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and is walkable to Bloomingdale, Shaw, NoMa, and even 14th Street!
Applications will go through the property manager and may include a fee. Security deposit + first month’s rent required upon signing. Room is available Nov. 15, and the lease term runs through May 2017 (with option to renew).
