About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic video journalist to cover and produce feel-good and potentially viral news in the New York and Tri-State area. Candidates should live for the kind of news that makes them smile, have a keen sense of storytelling, and a love for all things social media. Our ideal candidate is passionate and knows how to distinguish truth from rumor and pre-viral from merely interesting. We are looking for enthusiastic journalists with clear writing and a strong understanding of how best to use still pictures, video, and graphics to tell a story. Our team needs a visionary who knows how to transport us — not only to another place, but inside another person’s life. All candidates must include a link to their portfolio/reel in their application.



Initiate, coordinate, and manage news video production, from inception to completion both on-location and in-house
Collaborate with Lead News Producer and Desk Reporter on high quality short-form videos for online distribution, utilizing our extensive library of news footage
Turn around news footage edits on tight deadlines (same day)
Effectively multi-task between multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities
Monitor post-production, including editing, sound, and motion graphics, in order to ensure accurate completion of all details
Independently source qualified leads to report on
Other responsibilities delegated by our Lead News Producer
A minimum of 2 years of experience producing and editing news/timely videos for the web in a deadline-driven environment
A positive mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and a proven history as a self-starter
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Fluency in video editing (including Adobe Premiere), color correction, audio editing, and photo editing
Ability to code videos for CMS and digital platforms
Adept at shooting video and capturing audio using DSLR/mirrorless cameras
A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, film, or a related field
A desire to expose millions of people to positive and uplifting news
