Leica Store Washington DC Presents: Eli Reed
“A Long Walk Home” Gallery Opening Reception
Friday, July 17th, 7-9pm
In a photographic career spanning five decades Reed has become a master of depicting people, as they reveal an inner state. The search for an understanding of the human condition has presented him with many situations and many characters along the way. Through these varied interactions an extraordinary empathy with his subjects developed, connecting him with the Lost Boys in Sudan, the poor in America and the actors in Hollywood.
A Long Walk Home, presents the first career retrospective of Reed’s work. The curated exhibition at the Leica Store DC will display images that span the full range of his subjects and his evolution as a photographer. The photographs are a visual summation of the human condition.
