Hey WPOW-ers, Mark your calendar for the Quarterly Meeting:
Please join us this Monday, October 27, as photographer Amanda Mustard speaks to us for the Fall Quarterly Meeting. Amanda is a freelance photojournalist who has recently relocated to Bangkok after working for three years in Cairo. She is a graduate of RISC Training and the Eddie Adams Workshop, founding member of the Koan Collective, and a board member of the Frontline Freelance Register and the Makeshift Magazine Editorial Board.
She will talk about the three years she spent working as freelance photographer in Egypt, a country with epidemic levels of sexual harassment and assault. She will also discuss the broader threat of gender-based violence that female journalists face in the field, and the critical need for media organizations to develop safety protocols specific to the needs of women working in high-risk areas.
This event is a potluck, so please bring something to share. This event is for members or prospective members only.
