The Register-Guard, a 50,000-circulation morning daily in Eugene, Ore., is looking for a hard-charging photojournalist to join a talented photography and graphics staff in covering the news at one of the Northwest’s best newspapers. As a paper, we’re known for our commitment to photojournalism and to the powerful presentation of compelling words and picture. We have a tradition of editorial excellence supported by elegant typography and design. The successful candidate will be an experienced photographer with solid news judgment, skills in news presentation/design and the ability to work well with reporter and editor counterparts.
The job demands excellent photographic, picture editing and verbal communication skills, technical ability to make color photographs, use lights when necessary and perform in a Macintosh-based computer environment using professional software tools such as Adobe Photoshop and other related applications. Salary scale is $706.90 to $1108.40 per week, commensurate with experience. Graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably supplemented by work experience in photography; or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training.
