Berklee Online, the award-winning extension school of Berklee College of Music, is looking for a Video Editor/Producer to join our marketing team.
This position is responsible for the production and creation of high-end, externally facing, multimedia content that increases Berklee Online’s visibility and brand identity. We create short-form, story-driven marketing content that includes instructor interviews, music lessons and clinics, student spotlights, and live events.
This is a hands-on position ideal for a self-starter with demonstrated experience in the whole process of video creation-from concept to completion and distribution. We are looking for someone who can wear many hats, and wear them well. Candidates should be technically fluent with current styles, standards, and trends, and experience with internet video is preferred over broadcast.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
The Video Editor/Producer, with the Senior Marketing Manager, oversees all areas of Berklee Online’s outgoing video strategy. This includes developing and maintaining a visual direction for the brand; planning, scheduling, and preparing for shoots; review and quality control of all videos. This position also manages an Assistant Editor/Production Assistant.
This position leads all videos shoots, and is responsible for all aspects of them, including high-definition video cameras, lights, audio, and camera support equipment.
With the Assistant Editor/Production Assistant, the Video Editor/Producer is responsible for non-linear editing with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier. Additionally, post-production experience with digital asset management, color correction, audio mixing, and video compression is required.
Experience with motion graphics creation with Motion, After Effects, and Photoshop is highly desirable.
The Video Editor/Producer manages Berklee Online’s YouTube Channel, currently one of the top educational channels on the site with over 16 million views. This position also oversees video distribution through all third party channels, including Brightcove and on Berklee Online.
Berklee Online is on the cutting edge of live events, having set a Guinness World Record for “World’s Largest Online Guitar Lesson” in 2011, and hosting regular live music clinics. Experience and/or knowledge of live events and live streaming is vital to this position, as we continue to grow in this space.

Post-production experience with digital asset management, color correction, audio mixing, and video compression.
Proper operation of high-definition video cameras, lights, audio, and camera support equipment.
Understanding of HD multi-camera shoots and production for live events.
Knowledge of broadcast switchers and software switchers
Knowledge of and experience with the online video space. Experience with Brightcove is highly desirable.
Knowledge of tapeless cameras and tapeless camera workflows.
Knowledge of video compression formats (codecs).
Ability to carry equipment to location sites.
A bachelor’s degree (BFA preferred) with a related major.
3-5 years of hands-on production and editing experience.
Demonstrated success in editing professional-level content using Final Cut Pro and/or Premier.
Experienced in all areas of post-production including motion graphics creation, color correction, audio mixing, video compression, and online distribution.
Demonstrated knowledge in all areas of video production including operating video cameras, lighting setups, running audio and using camera support equipment.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to follow creative direction and work under deadlines.
Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques as video production standards evolve.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a focused, strategic fashion and follow assigned projects through to completion, both independently and in a team.
