JOB: Multimedia Producer/Editor

Job Summary:

Catholic Relief Services is seeking an in-house producer/shooter/editor to work on a growing number of internal projects. The CRS video production unit produces, edits and distributes short and long format programming for internal clients to distribute to media, partners, and donors throughout the US.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create film and plan production with emphasis on client relationship management.
  • Edit video, photo, graphics and audio files to create videos to effectively represent CRS’ work in the field, events and programs.
  • Develop storyboards and scripts for short-format videos (less than four minutes).
  • Research and retrieve additional materials needed for production.
  • Design additional graphics elements as needed for video productions
  • Review content from the editor’s POV, to determine if additional visual elements, sound effects or scriptwriting are needed on video materials.
  • Coordinate audio including voice, sound effects, and music to various projects for productions.
  • Operate audio recording devices including mixers and wireless, lavalier and/or boom mics, etc.
  • Create master file for projects with the ability to determine appropriate codecs and formats for intended usage.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance customer relationships; provide films that exceed client expectations.

Working Relationships:

Internal: All US Operations units and regional offices, Annual Giving, Communications, Digital/Web, Creative Services, Advertising, Human Resources, PIQA and Executive Leadership Team.

External: Video production vendors and various crews


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or marketing, preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years experience and knowledge of digital production environment
  • Experience in video creation from concept, production planning to completion
  • Proficiency in the following software: Final Cut Studio (7 and X), ProTools, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere with some knowledge of After Effects
  • Computer proficiency in PC and MAC platforms
  • Familiarity with audio, lighting and camera operation for a small audio/video studio
  • Familiarity with audio/video compression techniques
  • Must have a professional sense for digital video and photography and possess skills necessary to categorize, archive and retrieve digital assets
  • Working knowledge of marketing functions within a business environment and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience with effectively building and managing cross-functional working relationship across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as work independently with little supervision.
  • Must be willing to travel overseas to CRS’ program countries.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities while working under tight timelines
  • Self-starter with strong capacity for independent action and initiative including decision-making and negotiating
  • Able to work with a diverse group of people and personalities
