DC to Revisit Street Photography Regulations:

If you feel this regulation is not in the best interests of all of us in the photographic arts and media, I encourage you to call your Congressman (if you live outside of DC), or call your elected officials (if you’re in DC), or write to the professional organizations of which you are a member and encourage them to stop this kind of regulation for regulation’s sake. There’s no need for this except to further squelch the ability of free documentation of the city and narrow the classifications of “what makes someone a journalist? an artist? a working professional?” This is a slippery slope and its better to act now before the regulation becomes permanent.
