Location: FotoWeek DC Central, 1800 L St, NW, Washington, DC
Cost: $25 for one session or $50 for all. Pay by cash or Check to FCDA at the door. Money will go to support FCDA projects.
11am to 12:30–Continuing the Legacy: Stanley Greene will speak and show work connecting historic documentary photography such as the FSA (Farm Security Administration) to contemporary projects.
12:30 to 2 pm–Visual Literacy and Reading Pictures: Alan Chin will use examples of his own work and that of iconic imagery to discuss how we can sharpen our analytical and critical perspectives when looking at photographs.
2pm to 2:30 Lunch
2:30-4pm–A Beginner’s Guide: Secrets to creating great Multimedia: Lucian Perkins will reveal techniques and shortcuts he has learned, mistakes he has made, to give you a head start in creating good multimedia incorporating photography, video, and audio.
4pm to 5:30 pm–Towards Personal Vision: Debbie Fleming Caffery will show the intensive photo essays that she’s worked on and describe the commitment, research, and focus required to execute a directed project.
