Hello, Jamie’s Listers!

I’m back from a VERY successful Momenta Myanmar 2009 workshop. We had an amazing group of students, including the local talent of WPOW member Sharon Phillips and Doug Stroud. We also had students from Brazil, Switzerland and England.

The images will be updated this week onto the Momenta website and I’ll be updating my JamieRose.net website by the first of the year to include the story I did on “Workers” in Burma. Overall, amazing trip, amazing pictures and amazingly good times had by all. If you have the means and the motivation to take your photography up a level, I highly recommend a Momenta Workshop in the future!

So The List is back up and running! I’ll be posting a lot of info today and keep the recommendations coming.

Happy Holidays,

Jamie

hey guys:

Check out fellow SU alum Rob Gullixson’s portrait project on Obama supporters from across the country during the election. You can also see the great YouTube video as well that was shown during the Inaugural gala balls in DC. Great concept and hopefully we’ll see another round of it during the next campaigns!

I just stumbled upon this website and it’s a great way for a photographer to make an impact, promote good works and get the Photo Love (as Mark Dolan would say) spread around the world:

(grin) Well, maybe not of all time but it’s pretty darned amazing!!!  This is a collection of the Women Photojournalists of Washington work that was created for the Look3 Festival of the Photograph. It has some amazing work in there. The theme was simply “women” and the photographs run the gamut of portraits to photojournalism to documentary to studio work. It’s really beautiful.

And since this is my blog and I’m a shameless self promoter, my pics are at the following times during the show: 7:20, 6:32, 3:42, 2:49, 2:44.

Well, if you’ve got a camera, camera phone or charcoal sketch pad, send a quick snap into the folks at http://www.ten15am.com/ and show them what your world looks like at 10:15 a.m. It’s a great social experiment to see how many people a day can be out and take a snap at the same time.

I love it! I’ve been submitting as much as I can and I’ve found some great other photographers around the world. Jody Surgue in Canada’s pics are great!

see you at 10:15!

Jamie
