Final Call For Nominations: WPOW Elections

This is the final call for nominees for vice president and secretary of WPOW. Please email Jenna at secretary@womenphotojournalists.org by January 1, 2012.

We will be holding elections for vice president and secretary, as the terms are both up for re-election. We welcome any and all nominations. Feel free to nominate someone you think would be a good fit,
including yourself.

We are looking for energetic, organized and dedicated people for these roles, who are passionate about our mission and willing to help lead WPOW as we continue to grow. If you or someone you know is interested in taking one of these awesome opportunities to lead, learn from and help shape the direction of WPOW working directly with the board, founders and committees, please let us know.

This is a very exciting time to be a part of WPOW and the experience of serving as vice president or secretary will be invaluable.  Jacquelyn has done an amazing job and she will graciously provide guidance to the new VP for the smoothest transition.  Jenna has demonstrated a much needed attention to detail and a commitment to her role as secretary and will also provide guidance and motivation for an incoming secretary.

The vice president provides support to the role of the president but most importantly, oversees all organization committees. The main roles are to maintain communication with all committee chairs, help them develop and implement  programming, and report their activities and needs to the president, officers and the board, and to serve as the chief officer in the absence of the president.

The secretary role is an important one, serving as the ears and voice of the organization. She oversees day-to-day administration of the organization’s communications, maintains databases of members, takes minutes at all meetings of the leadership, creates the organization’s newsletter and sends general announcements. She also approves member applications and coordinates with the webmaster for content on the organization’s official website.

Please feel free to call me with any questions.
Thank you,
Molly Riley

He has just become a photo blogger for HuffPost/AOL folks  and I’d like to ask you to share this link and “like” it, etc. He’s doing great stuff at his job in the international nonprofit world so let’s help support documentarians in that industry! Thanks so much! -Jamie
