Yesterday, I had coffee with a group of freelancers on the Hill. One of them said they were talking to a few people on “The Trail” and some people (whom I’ve never met) said they read Jamie’s List. And what’s more: they like it!
You all make Jamie’s List happen as much as I do by sending me the info on your great events, gallery openings, job postings and general good news. With only two embarrassing exceptions (one I spoke out before thinking and sincerely regret it to this day and the other I was sent bad information for the List), I would say the last few years of Jamie’s List have been a great success and fun endeavor to keep everyone connected in our community.
If you are one of those people reading from another town, I encourage to start your own list. It’s not all that hard. Photographers are mislabeled as solitary beings. However, Jamie’s List proves we all need each other for bouncing around ideas, learning about career changing opportunities we might not normally see or even just to announce a group of folks are getting together for a beer after work. It helps to know there’s someone else out there who knows the industry, likes to talk about it and can help you move forward in this media frenzy of which we work.
So, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping make Jamie’s List a nationally syndicated network! And for all those out there who I don’t know: It’s nice to meet you! Thanks for reading!
-Jamie.
